Household & privacy
Invite members, share deliberately, and protect access.
Invite the household
- Open Manage Server → Household.
- Create an invitation and choose the shared libraries and member limits.
- Send the invitation link privately. The member creates their own account.
- They can personalize Home with interests and creator follows, or explore immediately.
Following a creator does not download their media.
Know the boundary
| Control | Effect |
|---|---|
| Private imports | Visible only to the owning member, subject to owner administration. |
| Shared roots | Make imported media available according to household access rules. |
| App passwords | Separate credentials per connected device; revoke individually. |
| Two-step verification | Adds authenticator codes to browser sign-in. Save recovery codes offline. |
Keep the encryption key
Back up app-data/totp-key separately and securely. It protects authenticator secrets and optional personal YouTube sessions. The database alone cannot restore these credentials.
Optional YouTube sessions
In My Settings → Privacy & apps → YouTube, a member may import their own Netscape-format YouTube cookies with explicit consent. Lumina encrypts them for that member’s recorded-video playback retry.
Discovery, downloads, and live capture remain anonymous. Disconnect YouTube deletes the saved session and retires private streams; provider-side revocation is managed in the Google account. Cookie files are password-equivalent: never share them or place them in a repository.
